What We Do

About Us

Ghost Light Theatre Company has illuminated New York’s theatrical landscape with up and coming artists. At Ghost Light, we aim to support emerging artists by providing resources for them to actualize their work.

Since our founding in 2022, we’ve felt fortunate to bring forth several mainstage productions, workshops of developing plays, and various pop-up fundraisers across NYC; partnering with several landmark institutions such as: The Tank NYC, New York City Center Studios, SoHo Playhouse, and The John DeSotelle Acting Studio.

Our Programming

GLTC’s Mainstage Season consists of 3 fully-produced, fully-staged works,  which usually includes a mix of contemporary and classic material. These productions get a fully-involved production team, rehearsal process, and performances.

Our Bright Lights Playwriting Cohort program is specifically focused on the development of new work by NYC area playwrights. The Bright Lights dramaturgs and directors work closely with playwrights to support, develop, and workshop exciting new scripts, culminating in a staged reading.

Additionally, we also program special fundraising, networking, and one-off events throughout the year, such as benefit readings, trivia nights, and more.

Ghost Light’s Acknowledgments

At Ghost Light Theatre Company, equity is the active process through which we strive to create a better theater for all.  We encourage a culture of respect that empowers all creatives and audience members-including those historically underrepresented because of their gender, gender identity/expression, race/ethnicity, age, ability, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic, educational or citizenship status to achieve their creative potential.  We expect our community and collaborators to join us in challenging inequity in and outside of the theater.
